FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a means of monitoring passive reactor heat removal system from internal volume of protective shell of a water-cooled power reactor to prevent emergencies at nuclear power plants. The method includes a visual inspection of the system for external damage; the loop of the passive heat removal system is divided into two sections: accessible and inaccessible for inspection by means of visual control. Next, a survey of the internal areas of individual sections of pipelines is carried out using visual control means; determine additional hydraulic resistance in the pipeline in an inaccessible area by examining the forced circulation mode of the circuit. Then the proportion of blocked tubes from their total number in the heat exchanger is determined and the data obtained at the previous stages are processed and the state of the system of passive heat removal from the inner volume of the containment shell is determined. The device includes at least one cooling water circulation circuit, and additionally contains a heating tank partially filled with water, with electric heating elements, a drain line including a tank for receiving water drained from the system, and measuring means.
EFFECT: improving safety during NPP operation.
