FIELD: cooling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refrigeration equipment, namely, to thermoelectric methods for converting electrical power into cold. The thermoelectric refrigerator consists of n- and p-type semiconductor branches, metal plates ensuring connection between the ends of the branches, hot and cold junctions formed in the passage of current. The metal plates by the cold junctions are closed with the ends of the branches prior to activation of the current and opened after deactivation of the current, wherein the amplitude and duration of current are selected as optimal.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of thermoelectric cooling.
