METHOD FOR ASSESSING AND DEVELOPING HUMAN VISUAL-MOTOR COORDINATION Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/00 A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2762334 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine and is intended for the assessment and development of human visual-motor coordination. The test subject is presented on the monitor screen of the hardware and software complex (HSC) for test movement a controlled object (CO) of a given size and shape, as well as a specified number of mobile objects (MO) of a given size and shape, which move on the screen programmatically in straight-line segments along the field of action of the test subject. The subject, observing the movements of the MO, identifies the pattern of their movement and transfers the CO to places free from the routes of the MO, avoiding collisions with the MO and the boundaries of the zone of action of the CO. At the same time, the peculiarity is that the movement of the CO across the field of the monitor is carried out using a joystick or a computer mouse or using touch screens. The size, shape of the area of action of the CO, as well as the size of the CO, the quantity, speed, size, color, contrast and the nature of the movement of the MO form the level of cognitive-motor load in each test or developmental exercise. The parameters and characteristics of the area of operation of the CO, the CO and the MO themselves are selected from the HSC library or entered into the HSC by the researcher, taking into account the readiness of the subject. At the moments of collision of the CO with the MO or the boundary of the zone of action of the CO, the subject’s error is fixed, a sound and/or light signal is given or not given. In this case, the area of operation of the CO can be stationary or mobile within the monitor screen, the speed of the MO is set constant or increases according to a given program from the moment of “Start” (stationary state) until the moment of the test subject’s error. The test is repeated a specified number of times with interruptions of a specified duration. The time before the collision with the MO or the boundary of the area of CO operation in all tests is automatically recorded by the HSC for data analysis and calculation of the arithmetic mean of the measured indicator under specified conditions. According to the arithmetic mean value of the time of error-free control of the CO in the given test conditions, with different variants of cognitive-motor load, the level of visual-motor coordination of the subject is judged.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of the assessment and development of human visual-motor coordination.
