FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry production, in particular to the modification of nickel alloys with ultrafine powders of refractory compounds. The method for modifying nickel alloys involves the introduction of a modifier containing ultrafine refractory particles into the melt. A modifier is used, additionally containing 55-65% of metal particles interacting with the melt components, and the modifier is introduced into the melt heated to a temperature from 1510 to less than 1520°C, in the form of a briquette with a density from 1.03 to less than 1.05 of the melt density and a porosity of 1.5-4.0 vol.%.
EFFECT: uniformity of the distribution of refractory particles over the volume of the melt is ensured and the dissolution, coagulation and surfacing of refractory particles are prevented, resulting in a nickel alloy with high physical and mechanical properties and a fine-grained homogeneous structure.
