FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of [6R]-5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate for the treatment of colorectal cancer in a human, where the treatment includes following stages: a) administration of an intravenous (hereinafter – i/v) bolus containing 5-fluorouracil (hereinafter – 5-FU) once a day in the amount of 300-500 mg/m² of the body surface area (hereinafter – BSA), after which, after a 30-minute period, b) administration of two or more i/v boluses follows, with a gap of 30-60 minutes, containing 30-240 mg/m² of [6R]-5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate, after which c) administration of a long-term infusion of 5-FU follows, for 46 hours or till the end of the day 2, after which d) administration of one or more i/v boluses follows, two times a day, containing 30-240 mg/m² of (BSA) of [6R]-5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate, where the stage b) is possibly repeated up to 4 times a day of the day 1 with a gap of 10-60 minutes between each repetition, and where the stage d) is possibly repeated up to 4 times a day of the day 2 with a gap of 10-60 minutes between administrations of each bolus, and where all stages a)-d) are possibly repeated every 2 weeks up to eight (8) cycles, i.e., up to sixteen (16) weeks.

EFFECT: obtaining a remedy for the treatment of colorectal cancer.
