SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for regulating a gap between the first and the second electrodes of a spark plug for an internal combustion engine. Device (2) for regulating gap (A) between first electrode (4) and second electrode (5) of spark plug (1) is proposed, having at least one counter support (23), one remote plate (26) and one punch (24) that are located along longitudinal axis (X-X), while counter support (23) is designed to be rested by spark plug (1), remote plate (26) is located, when viewed in the direction of longitudinal axis (X-X), between counter support (23) and punch (24) and is designed to be placed between first electrode (4) and second electrode (5), and punch (24) is designed to apply a deformation effort in the direction of longitudinal axis (X-X) to second electrode (5).

EFFECT: prevention of damage or destruction of spark plugs, when regulating a gap between their electrodes, due to applying excessively high deformation efforts to them.
