FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydrometallurgy of platinum metals, in particular to methods for the regeneration of metals from dissolved spent catalysts of the automotive and chemical industries, from sludge electrolytic refining of copper, and the processing of spent nuclear fuel. The method for extracting rhodium, ruthenium and palladium from nitric acid solutions with a concentration of nitric acid up to 5.0 mol/dm3 includes the addition of a soluble iron(III) salt and potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) to the said nitric acid solution in quantities providing a molar ratio of hexacyanoferrate(II):Fe3+:ΣΜΠΓ=2:2:1, where hexacyanoferrate(II) is potassium or sodium hexacyanoferrate(II), Fe3+ is the soluble salt of iron(III), ΣΜΠΓ is the sum of the extracted platinum group metals.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to simplify the extraction of rhodium, ruthenium, palladium from nitric acid solutions with a concentration of nitric acid up to 5.0 mol/dm3 with an increase in the degree of their extraction.
