SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to mechanical engineering. The method for operation of the liquid cooling system of a positive displacement machine consists in alternating supply of coolant and working fluid to the cylinder of the machine. At the same time, the coolant is fed into the cylinder when its temperature reaches a predetermined critical value and after the cylinder cools down, the machine is transferred to the main mode of compression and injection of the working fluid. A volumetric action machine is also disclosed.

EFFECT: reducing the cost of mechanical energy for cooling, as well as ensuring the normal thermal operation of the machine in conditions of extremely high ambient temperatures.
