FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry production. A method for assessing the recoverability of rod and molding mixtures consists in the manufacture of an experimental sample of the mixture and its preliminary sealing in a sleeve with a separation coating applied, which is then placed in an installation designed to measure the recoverability index, containing a ring at the base that provides a guaranteed gap between the sample of the mixture and the base of the installation, a mechanical drive that drives a pressure screw and transmits force to a piston connected to a dynamometer that fixes the numerical value of the maximum force, applied to the mixture sample until it is directly shifted relative to the sleeve in the direction of the gap.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to select the optimal composition of the molding and rod mixture to ensure the necessary technological properties of molds and mixtures, as well as separation coatings, which in turn improves the quality of molds and rods, and consequently castings.
