FIELD: protective coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of plasma application of protective coatings and can be used to protect steel structures operated in the Arctic and the Far North. The method for applying a protective coating to steel products used in the Arctic and the Far North includes applying a suspension of the composition K0.06TiO2+H2O+Na2SiO3 with a particle size from 10 to 150 nm by plasma spraying in the temperature range 2000-2200°C, and a protective coating with a thickness of 50-100 microns is created on the steel base.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining a coating characterized by high corrosion resistance, mechanical and chemical resistance, high adhesion strength to the steel base and providing an increase in the service life of steel products.
