FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to smoking products with a filter that have increased hardness, and a method for increasing the hardness of the filter for smoking products. The smoking product contains smoking material and a filter located downstream relatively to smoking material. The filter contains filter material and a string located around filter material. The string contains an inner surface facing the longitudinal axis of the filter and an outer surface facing away from the longitudinal axis of the filter. The outer surface of the string contains coating that increases hardness. Coating increasing hardness is applied after the string is positioned around filter material.
EFFECT: creation of a filter with increased hardness, using standard equipment for the manufacture of filters.
