SUBSTANCE: smoking article (10) comprises: tobacco rod (12); filter (14) aligned along axis with tobacco rod and comprising: hollow tubular segment (22), wall thickness of which is not more than 0.9 mm; and a filter section located upstream of the hollow tubular segment (22) and comprising one or more filtering segments (18, 20). Hollow tubular segment (22) forms cavity (26) on mouthpiece end of filter (14), providing unobstructed flow channel, which passes from downstream end of filtration section to mouthpiece end of filter (14). Hollow tubular segment (22) is made of fibre filter material and contains plasticiser of filter, wherein quantity of plasticizer of filter is at least 22 % of weight of fibre filtering material.

EFFECT: disclosed is a smoking article having a filter with a hollow tubular segment.
