SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of bacterial strains and their capability of controlling plant diseases. A composition is proposed for inhibiting growth of phytopathogenic fungi or bacteria in useful plants, including effective amount of a biologically pure culture of a fungicidal strain of Paenibacillus genus that includes an option of fusaricidin synthetase without a functional adenylation domain in the third module (FusA-A3). The option of fusaricidin synthetase includes deletion in FusA-A3 of amino acid residues of corresponding positions of Asp254, Ala255, Ser258, Thr297, Leu318, Ala320, Gly341, Ile349 and Cys350 of a sequence SEQ ID NO: 11, or Asp254, Ala255, Ser258, Thr297, Leu318, Ala320, Ala341, Val349 and Cys350 of a sequence SEQ ID NO: 9, or Asp254, Ala255, Ser258, Thr297, Leu318, Ala320, Gly341, Val349 and Cys350 of a sequence SEQ ID NO: 1. The lack of functional FusA-A3 inhibits the synthesis of fusaricidins with tyrosine and phenylalanine in the amino acid residue 3. The specified strain of Paenibacillus genus expresses relatively high level of fusaricidins without polymyxins.

EFFECT: composition of a fungicidal strain of Paenibacillus genus is used in agriculture for combating phytopathogenic fungi or bacteria in useful plants.
