FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for increasing adaptability of a honeybee to organophosphate insecticides includes administering to the honeybee a composition containing an effective amount of organophosphorus insecticides-metabolizing bacteria formulated with a carrier edible to insects. Bacteria that metabolize organophosphate insecticides are selected from the group consisting of Snodgrassella spp., Bartonella spp., Parasaccharibacter spp. and Lactobacillus spp., and are able to colonize the intestines of the bee, thereby improving its adaptability. The invention also relates to a composition for improving adaptability of a honeybee to organophosphate insecticides, comprising an effective amount of organophosphorus insecticide-metabolizing bacteria formulated with an insect-edible carrier.
EFFECT: change in the level, activity or metabolism of one or more microorganisms living in the host organism, such as a honeybee, thereby increasing adaptability of the honeybee to organophosphate insecticides.
