SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention lies in the fact that a micromechanical gyroscope (MMG) is installed on the magnetic compass bowl fixed in a gimbal suspension as an angular velocity sensor with a vertical axis of sensitivity, which generates instantaneous values of angular velocities of course change and yaw. The MMG output data is used to compensate for the values of angular velocities of course change and yaw in the signal generated by differentiating the readings of the compass magnetic heading sensor (MHS). As a result of calculating the difference between the output signals of the differentiating link and the MMG, a signal is formed, which is then passed through a low-pass filter to form a signal proportional to the error at the output of the filter.

EFFECT: reduction in the pitch error of the compass.
