FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of measuring technology. The studied magnetic compass (MC) is installed on a stand capable of reproducing oscillations in yaw angles in the frequency spectrum corresponding to the operating conditions of the MC and in a magnetic field with specified parameters. The MC signal is recorded, coming from the output of the control device equipped with a correction system. The signal is a combination of a constant magnetic heading signal and a variable yaw value, in which there is a dynamic error. The signal is recorded from the turn angle sensor of the stand. According to the recorded implementations, graphs of the spectral density are built. By the difference in the values of the graphs, the spectral density of the dynamic error of the MC on the roll is determined, and then the values of its dispersion and the standard deviation (SD).
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of determining the dynamic error of the MC in the specific conditions of its operation.
