FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing calcium stearate for use as a heat stabilizer in the production of polyvinyl chloride resins (PVC), in the production and processing of polymers and rubbers, in the production of artificial leather and linoleum, as well as in the production of medicines. The method for producing calcium stearate involves the interaction of stearic acid and calcium oxide or hydroxide in an equimolar ratio with intensive stirring. The interaction of the components is carried out with repeated movement of the reaction mass, which is in a viscous state, in a turbulent mode along a closed circuit. The pipeline of the circuit is equipped with confuser-diffuser elements, and each time the reaction mass passes through a closed circuit, the reaction mixture is sent to the reactor for averaging. The interaction process is carried out until the pH of the reaction mass is 7-8.5, and then it is cooled.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the method for obtaining calcium stearate while simultaneously improving the quality of the target product and reducing the time it takes to obtain it, as well as expand the arsenal of means for obtaining calcium stearate.
