FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology. In patients with atrial extrasystole (AE), an ECG study and transesophageal pacing are performed. Studies are carried out twice with an interval of 1-3 months. After each study, the prognostic index (PI) is determined, taking into account the duration of the filtered "P" wave of the signal-averaged ECG, the dispersion of the "P" wave, the frequency threshold of arrhythmia induction, the duration of induced atrial fibrillation (AF). With a decrease in the PI value obtained after the second study, compared with the value obtained after the first study, the development of AF is predicted in patients with AE. Then, the time interval of occurrence of spontaneous AF after the first examination is determined.
EFFECT: method improves the accuracy of predicting the development of AF in patients with AE.
