SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology, and can be used to determine the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with premature atrial contraction (PAC). Conduct an electrocardiographic examination. Determine the "P" (Pd) wave dispersion of the sinus rhythm (Pd-sr) and the "P'" wave dispersion of PAC (Pd-pac). Risk of developing AF in patients with PAC (RDAF) is determined by the claimed formula. At values of the RDAF up to 0.5 – predict a high risk, within 1–3 months, from 0.5 to 1.0 – the average risk, from 3 months to 1 year, more than 1.0 – low risk, more than 1 year.

EFFECT: method allows to determine with high accuracy the risk of AF in patients with PAC after the first examination due to the evaluation of the most significant indicators.
