SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine, in particular, to a method for correcting the metabolism of mares during the lactation period. The method consists in feeding mares a metabolic composition containing iodinol, molasses, sodium chloride, succinic acid, iron sulphate, cobalt sulphate, copper sulphate, zinc sulphate and a nettle extract for 21 days after delivery. All components are used in a certain ratio. 1 liter of the composition is therein diluted in 5 liters of tap water and 350 ml of the resulting solution is added to the morning portion of oats.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows for correction of the metabolic processes in mares in the early lactation period, increase in the resistance of the maternal organism and the crop, reduction in the percentage of postpartum pathology.
