The apparatus for manufacturing a wire mesh (11) includes a welding unit (17), a first supplying apparatus (15) for feeding longitudinal wires (13), a second supplying apparatus (16) for feeding at least one transverse wire (14) into the above welding unit (17). The positioning unit (31) is intended for receiving the above longitudinal wires (13), located parallel to the first direction (D1) at a predetermined distance, from said first supplying apparatus (15), and comprises at least one positioning apparatus (45). The capturing elements (36) are intended for extracting one of the above longitudinal wires (13) from said positioning unit (31) and moving in the corresponding supply directions and to said welding unit (17). The positioning unit (31) includes a preparation section (50) and a delivery section (51), and said capturing elements (36) are located on said delivery section (51).

EFFECT: time for manufacturing a wire mesh of a given shape is reduced.
