SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used in information-measuring systems for oil production and refining. The method for determining the fractional fraction of water in a multiphase immiscible medium consists in the fact that a measuring section of the pipeline is built into the pipeline, made in the form of a pipe section with walls made of dielectric material, outside of which a sensor is installed in the control cross section of the measuring pipe section, made in the form of capacitive or magnetic the emitter and the receiver, while using the generator, a scanning electromagnetic high-frequency signal is generated at a given frequency, supplied to the emitter, and with the help of the receiver the scanning signal is recorded, determining the fluctuations of the dielectric constant of the multiphase medium with the receipt of the indicated scanning signal in the form of an amplitude characteristic, then the obtained amplitude characteristic is processed and analyzed, and on the basis of the analysis of the obtained characteristic, the fractional fraction of water in the control section of the pipe is determined, while before by setting the scanning signals, a series of preliminary measurements is carried out in the form of a calibration scan of the cross-section of the control section of the pipe before it is embedded in the pipeline, by changing the water content in the control section of the pipe and the carrier frequency of the generator signal, the frequency of the calibration scanning signal is selected, at which the amplitude of the recorded signal is proportional to the amount of water, and at least one of the control characteristics of the dependence of the signal amplitude on the amount of water in the control section, obtained as a result of preliminary measurements, is entered into the databank, and the scanning of the measuring section of the pipe after it is embedded in the pipeline, it is carried out with the frequency selected in the preliminary measurements, and the analysis of the amplitude characteristic obtained during scanning is carried out by comparing it with the control amplitude characteristic.
