SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image processing method and an image processing apparatus. The effect is achieved in that the image processing apparatus generates quantized data for printing the first dot pattern and the second dot pattern in an overlapping manner. The first dot pattern and the second dot pattern are mesh patterns that differ in the combination of two base vectors. In a merged dot pattern obtained by combining the first and second dot patterns, there is an adjacent point at which the point in the first dot pattern and the point in the second dot pattern are spaced less than the grid spacing. An adjacent point includes a plurality of adjacent points that differ in the approaching direction.
