SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of the joint production of ammonia and urea. An installation for the joint production of ammonia and urea includes a section for the production of ammonia and a jointed section for the production of urea. Hydrocarbon raw materials are reformed to obtain feed synthesis gas used for the synthesis of ammonia. At least part of synthesized ammonia is raw materials for the synthesis of urea. The synthesis of urea includes a reaction of ammonia with carbon dioxide to obtain an aqueous urea solution and subsequent processing of the specified solution in the section for the extraction of urea. The purification of feed gas includes the removal of CO₂ by conducting the first and the second stages of CO₂ removal in the first and the second modules of CO₂ removal that are conducted sequentially or in parallel, modules of CO₂ removal are not a part of the section for the synthesis of urea. One of stages of CO₂ removal includes washing of feed gas containing CO₂ with a carbamate solution selected from the section for the extraction of urea. Carbon dioxide used as raw materials in the synthesis of urea contains at least part of carbon dioxide separated at the specified stages of CO₂ removal.
