FIELD: digital image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of digital image processing. The method for combining images from matrix photodetectors of N different spectral ranges is that several images of different spectral ranges are simultaneously obtained for remote objects and a reference image with the maximum field of view and the highest resolution is selected from them. Next, the origin and n≥4 reference points are selected on the reference image, their pixel coordinates are determined, the corresponding points are found on all images of the remaining spectral ranges and their pixel coordinates are also determined. For each pair of “reference image - image of a different spectral range” from Cn4 combinations of reference points, Cn4 homography matrices are evaluated, the conditioning number μ is calculated for each of them, the minimum value μ is found and the corresponding homography matrix is stored in memory. The obtained homography matrices are stored in memory and images are combined using these stored parameters.
EFFECT: ensuring the reduction of errors when combining several images of different spectral ranges.
