FIELD: electric traction systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric traction systems of vehicles. The electric propulsion installation with double DC buses contains four generator sets, four circuit breakers, four voltage rectifiers, four voltage inverters, four AC propulsion engines and two screw propellers, a control system, four current sensors and two voltage sensors. In this case, the DC terminals of the first and second voltage rectifiers are connected in series in concert and form the positive and negative DC terminals of the starboard side, the DC terminals of the third and fourth voltage rectifiers are connected in series in concert and form the positive and negative DC terminals of the portside. The first and third, as well as the second and fourth voltage inverters are connected in parallel with their inputs in pairs. The control system has information outputs of current and voltage sensors.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability and energy efficiency of the electric propulsion installation.
