FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering, in particular to multibeam antenna systems for mobile, on-board and stationary-based communication equipment, including high-speed satellite communication terminals and cellular and mobile communication systems. An irregular lens is proposed, which is the basis of a multibeam antenna system with two orthogonal polarizations and contains: truncated axisymmetric lenses made of dielectric, placed on one axis and combined into a single unit irradiated by linear arrays of emitters with two orthogonal polarizations, each of which forms a spherical wave. Each array of emitters is designed with the possibility of irradiating a truncated lens, opposite which it is located, and neighboring truncated lenses located in close proximity to it. A multibeam antenna system with two orthogonal polarizations based on the specified irregular lens is proposed, while the truncated lenses consist of electrically small metal diffusers.
EFFECT: decrease in the level of the side lobes and an increase in the directional coefficient of the multibeam antenna system for each of the formed lobes of its directional pattern.
