SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for folding a material sheet into a rod for an aerosol generating product, while the method includes: providing a central element and a set of walls located at a distance from each other, while walls located at a distance from each other extend outward in a radial direction from the central element, and they are arranged one after the other in a direction along the circumference, while each wall located at a distance from the others forms an end surface separated from end surfaces of neighboring walls; transporting a material sheet and bringing it into contact with end surfaces of the set of walls located at a distance from each other in such a way that the material sheet can be partially folded in spaces formed between walls located at a distance from each other; and inserting the material sheet into a socket to form a rod. The present invention also relates to a device for folding a material sheet into a rod for an aerosol generating product.
