SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a cartridge assembly for use in an electronic nicotine delivery system and to an electronic nicotine delivery system. The cartridge assembly includes a reservoir with a material for retaining liquid nicotine or a liquid nicotine solution and is made of a material chemically resistant to nicotine or a nicotine solution. The cartridge assembly includes a counterfeit protection element in order to prevent use of an unauthorised cartridge in the electronic nicotine delivery system. The cartridge assembly also includes a reuse protection element preventing reuse of the cartridge assembly after removal from the electronic nicotine delivery system. The cartridge assembly comprises a distributor for retaining and distributing aerosol nicotine, wherein the distributor is located above the upper wall of the tank, wherein the distributor has an open upper end and at least one open lower end and at least one inner channel connecting the open upper end with said at least one open lower end, wherein said at least one open lower end is secured at said at least one open upper end of said at least one passage and is in fluid communication with said at least one passage.

EFFECT: safe, effective, and cost-efficient tool for delivering a controlled dose of nicotine to the user upon request is provided.
