FIELD: laser equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of applying images on products, in particular laser marking of glass products, both flat and having a complex surface geometry, and can be used in aviation, space and automotive industry. Method for laser marking of articles made from material transparent for laser radiation, by pressing a substrate with a coloring composition applied on it to the surface to be marked, its heating by scanning the substrate with a focused beam of pulse-periodic laser radiation from the opposite side of the article, evaporation and deposition of vapors of the coloring composition on the surface of the article with formation of an image on it, wherein the pulse-periodic laser radiation beam for forming an image on the article is directed by means of a scanner, which is fixed on the device for its movement to the image forming place, focal distance of the scanner lens is 201–204 mm, pulse duration is 95–105 ns at a repetition rate of 30–50 kHz and pulse energy of 0.95–1.05 mJ, and the speed of relative movement of the radiation beam of the pulse-periodic laser in the focal plane on the treated surface of the coloring composition is 1–2 m/s.

EFFECT: enabling marking of an article with a complex geometrical shape without damaging its surface, as well as the possibility of applying an image on a section of the surface of the article having a non-planar shape.
