SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions intended for controlling dust formation in open pits, roads and preventing dusting of various fine-grained materials (ash, coal, slags, potassium and other fertilizers, etc.). It can be used for dust suppression in mining, coal, construction and other industries. Dust suppressor is designed to combat dust formation at open pits, roads and to prevent dusting of various fine-grained materials (ash, coal, slags, potassium and other fertilizers, etc.). Dust suppression composition includes polyvinyl acetate, which is a copolymer of vinyl acetate with participation of ethylene, acrylic acid, pyrrolidone, acrylate, vinyl alcohol, acrylamide, dihaloethane or a combination of the above. Additionally, contains polyethylene glycol with molecular weight of 400 g/mol and water at the following ratio of components, wt.%: polyethylene glycol with molecular weight of 400 g/mol — 0.95–1; polyvinyl acetate — 0.12–0.24; water — balance. Use of the proposed composition for dust suppression reduces dusting of fine-grained materials (construction materials, ash, coal, slags, fertilizers, etc.) to 98 % compared to untreated materials. Due to high dust suppression capacity and formation of polymer film on surface, possibility of repeated dusting is excluded.

EFFECT: invention provides higher dust suppression capacity of the composition and long-term surface fixation effect.
