FIELD: metallurgical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgical industry, namely to the combined hardening chemical-thermal treatment of the surface of steel products and tools operating under conditions of local wear. The method for treatment of worn-out local sections of the surface of a steel part includes deformation treatment of worn-out local sections of the surface of a steel part and subsequent low-temperature ion nitriding of a steel part, and during deformation treatment, local hardening of worn-out local sections of the surface of a steel part is carried out by shot blasting with the possibility of intensification of diffusion nitrogen saturation of these areas with subsequent low-temperature ion nitriding, while ion nitriding is carried out at a temperature of 400-450°C.
EFFECT: increase in the wear resistance of the surface due to the formation of local sections of the hardened layer on the product, having a smooth gradient of mechanical properties from the surface towards the core of the product.
