FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical-thermal processing and can be used in machine building and other industries. Steel product surface processing method involves performance of the intensive surface plastic deformation and ion nitriding. Intensive surface plastic deformation performance is carried out by means of the surface shot blasting with steel balls with nozzle delivery of S=2 m/min with an angle of attack of á=90 °, and ion nitriding is carried out in the glow discharge.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the material performance characteristics, increase in the hardened layer hardness and contact wear resistance as a result of the macro-nonuniform structure creation on the steel product surface.
