FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to covered hopper car. Hopper car comprises chassis, frame and body with roof (1) equipped with loading opening. Loading opening in the form of a rectangle is equipped with successively arranged rectangular covers (2), each cover being in contact with the adjacent cover. One of the lateral sides of each cover (2) is hinged to roof (1). Sealing of loading opening comprises vertical rib rigidly connected to roof (1) of hopper car along entire perimeter of loading opening. Upper section of the vertical rib is located above the roof, and the lower section of the vertical rib is located inside the body. Vertical rib is equipped with two shelves facing from loading opening. First shelf is made on the upper section of the vertical rib, the second shelf is located inside the body, is directed along the inner surface of the roof and is rigidly connected to it. Vertical ribs are rigidly interconnected at the corners of the loading opening. Outer edges of covers of loading opening along perimeter of loading opening are equipped with locking elements made with possibility of covering upper section of vertical rib. Each shutoff element provides simultaneous coverage of the vertical rib and fixation of the elastic sealing element on it with the possibility of the elastic sealing element resting against the first shelf at the closed position of the loading opening cover.

EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability and tightness of seal of loading opening.
