FIELD: gas treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removal cleaning gases to remove sulfur compounds, carbon monoxide, and organics at gas- and petroleum processing, chemical, and other enterprises. Afterburning of leaving gases comprises passing gas to be treated with molecular oxygen or air through catalyst bed at elevated temperature and volumetric flow rate 7000-18000 h-1. Process is carried out in two stages using at least two different catalyst beds. In the first stage, hydrogen sulfide is oxidized at 130-250оС and, in the second stage, carbon monoxide and organics are oxidized at 450-550оС.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption.
