METHOD OF MAKING CAST OF LEFT HEART CHAMBERS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G09B23/30 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to normal human anatomy. To make an impression of the left heart chambers, the cavities of the heart preparation are sequentially washed, the aorta and the mouth of the pulmonary veins are sealed, a fluid solidifying filling mass is introduced into the mouth of one of the pulmonary veins, and soft tissues are removed from the formed cast. Before introduction of the filling compound, the right atrium is loosely packed with cotton wool. Heart preparation is suspended so that the apex of the heart rests on a horizontal surface, the lower wall of the left ventricle faces this horizontal surface, angle between this horizontal surface and the plane of the lower wall of the left ventricle varied within 10–15° and the mouth of the right upper pulmonary vein in relation to the mouths of the remaining pulmonary veins occupied the uppermost position. Such position of the preparation is maintained during introduction of the filling compound and during the whole time of its hardening. Orifices of the pulmonary veins are sealed by patching if the pulmonary veins of the heart preparation are completely cut off or have a very short wall at their confluence with the left atrium. Filling mass is introduced into the left atrium through the mouth of the right superior pulmonary vein.

EFFECT: method enables making a single cast of the left heart chambers, which corresponds to the maximum shape of the cavity of these chambers in the human body in the orthograde position of the human body during life.
