SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to normal human anatomy. After making a preparation of a normal heart in the diastolic phase, morphometric measurements are carried out: the length of the heart is measured - the greatest distance from the apex of the heart to the posterior wall of the left atrium, the length of the ventricular complex of the heart - the greatest distance from the apex of the heart to the right semicircle of the aortic root and the thickness of the left auricle of the heart - the greatest distance between opposite surfaces of the left ear of the heart. Based on the data obtained, the index of the presence of an "uncovered zone" (I) is calculated according to the original formula. At a value of I≥0.5, it is believed that there is a thinned area in the anteroposterior wall of the left atrium - an "uncovered zone".

EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain an objective assessment of the presence of an "uncovered zone" in the anteroposterior wall of the left atrium of a normal adult heart, while maintaining the integrity of the walls of the left atrium, which makes it possible to obtain objective knowledge in the areas of fundamental science studying the human heart.
