SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to normal human anatomy. To make a cast of the left atrium in the diastole phase, the cavities of the heart preparation are sequentially washed, pulmonary vein orifices are sealed, a fluid solidifying filling mass is introduced into the left atrium, and soft tissues are removed from the formed cast. Apical two-thirds of the ventricular complex of the heart is dissected away; the closure zones of the left atrioventricular valve are coated with a water-resistant glue; cavity of the left ventricle is tightly packed with cotton wool under these cusps, sealing the left atrioventricular opening. Further, the right atrium is loosely packed with cotton wool. Mouths of all pulmonary veins are sealed except for the mouth of the right superior pulmonary vein. Thereafter, the preparation is placed on the working surface so that the mouth of the right superior pulmonary vein occupies the uppermost position relative to the mouths of the other pulmonary veins. Then through the mouth of the right superior pulmonary vein, a fluid solidifying filling mass is introduced until the left atrium is completely filled.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of making a left atrial cast in atrial diastole, which can be used in pathological anatomy and comparative anatomy of humans and animals.
