SUBSTANCE: method for moving the peroneal nerve in the upper one-third of the shin relates to the field of medicine, namely to neurosurgery, and can be used in surgical treatment of patients with injuries and diseases of peroneal nerve in popliteal region and upper one-third of shin. On the border of the popliteal fossa and the upper one-third of the shin, between the popliteal muscle and the neck of the fibular head, a peripheral end of the peroneal nerve is separated to the point of its division into deep and superficial branches. Further, using the branches, the peroneal nerve is brought out to the anterolateral surface of the shin between the neck of the fibular bone and the long peroneal muscle, passing the peripheral end of the peroneal nerve into the popliteal region along the periosteum. An epineural suture of the peroneal nerve is performed.

EFFECT: method provides maintaining the support function of the foot by reducing the risk of osteomyelitis, no risk of damage to the vascular bundle of complete decompression of the peroneal nerve, overcoming possible diastasis of peroneal nerve, restoration of lost functions and reduction of postoperative rehabilitation of patients due to preservation of head of fibular bone, absence of intermuscular septum perforation and nerve passing from popliteal fossa to anterolateral surface of shin along inner surface of fibular neck.
