FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for prevention of seroma formation in surgical treatment of patients with giant incisional ventral hernias. When performing the surgical treatment, the skin is pricked in from one side of wound at 2–3 cm from the edge. Then subcutaneous fat, aponeurosis and endoprosthesis are captured. On returning, the skin is pricked out on the same side of the wound; the knots are formed by pulling the edges up to the layers adjoining each other, with a suture pitch of 3–4 cm. Sutures are made symmetrically on both sides relative to the white line of the abdomen. Whole wound and the cavity between the skin-fat flap, the mesh graft and the aponeurosis are closed.
EFFECT: method provides reducing the cavity and reducing the risk of tissue eruption and displacement of the mesh graft during the formation of the node, which reduces the risks of purulent-septic complications during the period of hospitalization, provide early rehabilitation, reduce additional economic costs, prevent recurrence of hernias in the future due to fixation of the adipocutaneous flap to the aponeurosis and endoprosthesis.
