METHOD FOR USING MARKERS OF BACTERIAL INFLAMMATION FOR DIAGNOSING URINARY TRACT INFECTION IN CHILDREN UNDER THREE YEARS OF AGE Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/68 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2766811 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pediatrics and nephrology. Blood serum concentration of protein increasing cell membrane permeability (BPI) and eotaxin chemokine are determined as biological markers in patients with suspected urinary tract infection before antibacterial therapy. If the concentration of BPI is higher than 245 ng/ml and that of eotaxin is higher than 1,430 ng/ml, a urinary tract infection is diagnosed in children under three years of age.

EFFECT: method provides effective, safe and early diagnosis of UTI in children under three years of age and enables timely determination of pathogenetic therapy.
