SUBSTANCE: essence of the method: determine procalcitonin (PCT) level in man ejaculate before in vitro fertilization procedure. If the PCT concentration is equal to or higher than 0.45 ng/ml, ejaculate infertility is predicted, that is an unfavorable outcome of ART. If the PCT concentration is less than 0.45 ng/ml, the ejaculate is considered fertile, favorable outcome of ART is predicted.
EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of predicting ART effectiveness provided by quantitative criterion based on the results of man's sperm laboratory study, which determines presence of reproductive disorders in men, specifically, ejaculate infertility; reduces complexity of implementation; increases availability for research in clinical diagnostic laboratories; cost-effectiveness is increased due to the application before the start of ART procedure.
