FIELD: human necessities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to human necessities, specifically to methods for saving lives of crew members and passengers of ships and aircrafts suffering distress in sea and on land and having the ability to send distress signals only by pyrotechnic means. Aircraft is directed to the search area. Air space and land surface surveillance is carried out with a spherical field of view to detect an activated pyrotechnic alarm device in ultraviolet wavelength range of 190-290 nm. At the time of pyrotechnic device detection, the values of its bearing and detection time are measured and recorded. Flight to be continued at a constant speed along the trajectory keeping middle line on radiation source by continuously changing the course until the radiation stops. Fix the time value and bearing of the pyrotechnic device. Continue aircraft movement in direction of the bearing recorded at the time of pyrotechnic radiation termination, until search object is detected in visible or IR wavelength range. EFFECT: efficiency is increased and search time is reduced.
