FIELD: aircraft engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method for laser protection of an aircraft. To protect the aircraft, it is preliminarily equipped with modules before the flight. Each module is equipped with a laser emitter with its control and power devices, sensors for detecting an attacking missile. At least two modules are installed directly on the aircraft, and one or more sets of three modules are installed on a carrier that can be separated for independent flight. During the flight, when one of the modules detects an attacking missile, the remaining modules are oriented to the specified sector of this missile, laser emitters are turned on, the separable modules are retracted to a certain distance to accompany the aircraft and the time required to ensure the failure of the guidance.

EFFECT: reducing the probability of hitting an aircraft, provided that the missile is guided by laser radiation.
