SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of motor vehicle safety, namely to a steering column assembly for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle. Steering column assembly comprises mounting bracket 3 rigidly connected to a vehicle body; steering column 1 containing lower shaft 11 of the steering column assembly and upper pipe 12 of the steering column assembly, which is movably connected to lower shaft 11 of the steering column assembly. Steering column assembly upper pipe 12 and mounting bracket 3 are movably connected, which allows upper pipe 12 of the steering column assembly to move relative to lower shaft 11 of the steering column assembly and mounting bracket 3 in the axial direction of the upper pipe of the steering column assembly. Rotation prevention element 4 is located on upper pipe 12 of steering column assembly and is used to prevent rotation of upper pipe 12 of the steering column assembly relative to mounting bracket 3 around the central axis of the upper pipe of the steering column assembly. Vehicle comprises steering column assembly. In accordance with the steering column assembly design, after collapse of the steering column assembly at a certain length, the impact load acting on the driver from the steering wheel can remain unchanged in combination with the continuous collapse of the steering column.
EFFECT: reduced impact on driver and passengers due to smooth collapse at impact.
