FIELD: quantum cryptography.
SUBSTANCE: quantum key distribution in entangled states. A quantum cryptography system based on entangled polarization states of photons with active selection of a measurement basis, containing a source of entangled pairs of photons connected to modules for measuring the polarization of subscribers via quantum communication channels, with each module for measuring the polarization of subscribers containing a polarization modulator that selects a measurement basis for the corresponding photon, polarization modulator driver, a polarization beam splitter located after the polarization modulator, which implements the polarization measurement itself in polarization state measurement modules by directing a photon to one of two single-photon detectors.
EFFECT: reduction in the number of required single-photon detectors in a quantum cryptography system based on entangled polarization states of photons for each of the two subscribers from 4 to 2.
