FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automated arc surfacing in medium of protective gases with two wires of solid cross-section and can be used in production of petrochemical equipment in process operations for cladding articles with corrosion-resistant metal layers. Two-electrode arc surfacing is carried out in the medium of protective gases of argon and carbon dioxide, taken in ratio of 82:18 vol.%. Two welding wires with diameter of 1.2–2.5 mm are used, which are located perpendicular to direction of surfacing and have common current lead connected to positive pole of welding current source. Inter-axle distance from each other is five times greater than wire diameter. Welding current is determined by formula: I = 189d – 7d2, and welding arc voltage is by formula: Ua = 20 + 3d.
EFFECT: due to formation of stable and common for two welding wires welding arc method provides minimum penetration of base metal, reduced mixing and obtaining required chemical composition of deposited metal in fewer passes.
