FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used in arc welding or consumable electrode surfacing in a shielding gas to obtain the required content of the main alloying element. Welding or surfacing is carried out using an arc with bipolar current pulses with a frequency of at least 40 Hz. The specified content of the electrode metal ψe in the weld is obtained by choosing the duration of the current pulses depending on the ratio ϕ of the average current of direct polarity pulses to the average arc current for the welding period in the range ϕ=0.1-0.9. Preliminarily, two seams are made with a consumable electrode at the current recommended for its given diameter with incomplete penetration of the plate at ϕ values for each of the seams that differ from each other by at least Δϕ=0.4. The cross-sections of the obtained welds are measured, according to which the value of ψe is determined for each of the welds and the coefficients of the linear dependence ψe=f(ϕ) are calculated, and the choice of the duration of the current pulses during welding or surfacing is carried out taking into account the calculated value ψe closest to its specified content.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain the optimal content of the necessary alloying element in the metal to obtain the desired properties of the deposited weld.
