SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer technology. A method for creating and updating a network profile that contains at least one IoT device (hereinafter referred to as a device) from the side of a network infrastructure element (hereinafter referred to as a hub), which includes the following steps: collecting data about network devices; creating a profile of each individual device; creating a network profile based on the created device profiles; comparing the network profile with the average network profile; identifying devices that are not currently on the network, but are present in the average network profile; for certain devices, uploading at least one of the following to the hub: device configuration policies, traffic analyzers, firmware updates; collecting information about new devices, as well as about already known devices to create and update device profiles, followed by updating the network profile.
