FIELD: computing technology.
SUBSTANCE: method for estimating the degree of wear of an IoT apparatus (hereinafter the apparatus) on the side of a network infrastructure element (hereinafter the hub) includes the stages of: collecting data on the operation of the apparatus; compiling a report on the operation of the apparatus based on the collected data; calculating the degree of wear of the apparatus using a wear model based on the compiled report, wherein if the degree of wear exceeds the threshold value, one of the following is performed: informing the user of the apparatus about the degree of wear of the apparatus; replacing said apparatus with a similar apparatus from an apparatus pool; if the apparatus pool comprises at least two apparatus similar to said apparatus, informing the user about the availability of similar apparatus; changing the operating parameters of the apparatus.
EFFECT: ensured estimation of of the degree of wear of the IoT apparatus.
